Many Mustang owners are disappointed after they install a new shifter to find that the price they paid for a solid feel and short throw is a significant increase of transmission noise into the cabin.  A simple fix is a set of my shifter gaskets.

These gasket sets fit all aftermarket shifters and the stock shifter. They are made from high-temp silicone material chosen for this application.  The handle gaskets are thin to maintain the solid feel of your shifter while helping to insulate transmission noise. You can use one shift handle gasket or both. 

Very easy to install!  Installation instructions are included.  And, you do not use messy silicone sealer.

why is my shifter noisy?

Many people ask what causes their shifter to be noisy.

 

Actually it isn't the shifter that is noisy.  What you hear is transmission gear noise being transmitted through the shifter (especially billet shifters) into the cabin. 

 

The thin, irregular bead of silicon sealer normally used on the bottom of the shifter base doesn't do well as a noise isolator.  The only real noise isolator is the thick rubber gasket on the shifter handle.  It isolates some of the gear noise from the transmission, but not near enough. 

 

There IS an inexpensive and simple solution.  Buy One Of My Shifter Gasket Sets!
