Just put mine in last week.....this gasket killed the noise of the
tranny whine!!! I have the MGW shifter and with this gasket it is
just about dead silent. Awesome product CobraBob!!!! For

have installed many shifters and driven a lot of Mustangs with short
throw shifters. I used the gasket from Cobra Bob this time, and it's the
best ever, well worth the 5 bucks there is no noise from the
transmission. It's just like stock! If you are changing a shifter
GET this gasket, you will not be sorry! Installed my set yesterday and I can't BELIEVE how big of a difference these gaskets made. My Triax used to chatter like a drunk girlfriend, now its dead silent! Best $5 I have spent in a LONG time. All aftermarket shifters should come with these. The gasket you made for me fit perfect.
I bought the Tri-Ax shifter about a month
ago and it was the nosiest shifter I have ever had. It really aggravated
me ever time I drove. When I heard about Bob's shifter gasket set I had

why is my
shifter noisy?
Many people ask what causes their shifter to be noisy.
Actually it isn't the shifter that is noisy. What you hear is transmission gear noise being transmitted through the shifter (especially billet shifters) into the cabin.
The thin, irregular bead of silicon sealer normally used on the bottom of the shifter base doesn't do well as a noise isolator. The only real noise isolator is the thick rubber gasket on the shifter handle. It isolates some of the gear noise from the transmission, but not near enough.
There IS an inexpensive and simple solution. Buy One Of My Shifter Gasket Sets! By adding my Shifter Gasket Set you can reduce this gear noise and enjoy a quieter shifter. My shifter gaskets can be used on both stock and aftermarket shifters.
